The Circles
Why we started where the community gathers

Our first flagship community program does not start in a studio. It starts in a room the neighborhood already uses. The Reset, a free 12 week training in breath, self defense, and discipline, runs at the ARC (Archwood Resource Collaborative), a community resource space in the heart of the Eastlake neighborhood on East Washington Street, in the same building as Grassrootz Bookstore, and it is built with our partners at OBFC. That choice is the whole philosophy in one decision.
Access travels
The people who most need nervous system tools are rarely the people walking into wellness studios. The room matters. A space that already belongs to the community carries a different invitation than a studio you have never entered: you know where it is, you know who goes there, and the door has never been priced against you. So instead of asking the community to travel to infrastructure, the practice travels to the community. The ARC first. Community centers, schools, parks, and partner sites after.
What twelve weeks builds
The Reset alternates weekly between two disciplines. Breathwork trains the nervous system to settle on purpose: foundations, downshifting, breath under pressure, a daily practice you own. Defense trains the body to protect itself: awareness, stance, escapes, strikes, and scenario work. Twelve weeks, one cohort of twelve, a certificate at the end recognized at The Reset monthly event. Free to the community, sustained by donors, built for people ready to show up weekly.
The door has never been priced against you.
Where this goes
The Reset is the front door to something larger: five Healing Circles built for specific fights, from nervous system recovery to fatherhood, each one opening as its campaign funds. The people who train at the ARC this fall are the beginning of that. First cohort begins September 3. Twelve spots. The preview evening is free and open to all.
